Association for Ethiopian Broadcasters (AEB) is a legally registered non-profit making association established in September 2018 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The association was founded with 8 privately held licensed television broadcasters presently operating in Ethiopia. It currently has 13 members comprising of private television and radio broadcasters. AEB strives to promote and protect a favorable economic and regulatory climate for broadcasting and educate members and the public at large about the opportunities available and advances possible through the efforts of free, over-the-air broadcast operations. AEB targets to deliver value to members through advocacy, education and innovation.
At AEB, our Mission is to improve the quality and profitability of broadcasting; increase the present broadcast market; boost content and technology innovation; and spotlight the important and unique ways stations serve their communities, deliver a high-quality content and services that local communities expect and deserve., advance the interests of our members in federal government ensuring policymakers are informed on the issues that impact the broadcasting industry. AEB is established to perform indeterminately to maximize the service given by radio and television broadcast service providers, and the broadcast industry in general by creating unity among them.

We highly value our members as they continuously support community initiatives and offer a platform for Ethiopian creators and businesses. They create and sustain hundreds of thousands of jobs by directly employing journalists, creators, producers, technical support, sales and administrative professionals. They also provide essential support that helps to fuel artists, while providing a platform for local organizations and businesses. Our members offer programming to everyone. They are your local television and radio stations, delivering the stories that matter to you, and reflect your communities.

• Regularly engage with policy makers on behalf of our members in order to promote an industry grounded on the principles democracy, diversity and freedom of expression.
• Create relation with third parties engaged in supplying material and service inputs necessary for the broadcast industry, such as satellite service and other technological advancement to create accessibility to members; and arrange a condition where the members obtain special treatment with in the scope of the law better supply price and performs necessary negotiation process.
• Create a platform for the transfer of engineering and technological knowledge that are deemed basic to the broadcast industry, provide trainings, and in association with concerned bodies, it engages in solving the lack of human resource and professional service quality.
• Moreover, it creates awareness among members regarding broadcast related legislations (laws, proclamation, directives) enacted by the legislative, executive and other law endorsing bodies so that the members are fully informed.
• Design plan and strategies that enable the broadcast industry to be accessible, accurate, honest source of information.
• In accordance with the law, on national events that are subject to live coverage/ transmission, the Association creates and arranges a platform where members can access a feed, at the same time a system where cost is shared among. Likewise, it sets and facilitates a system where the members can transmit or broadcast events joint and separately.
• The Association further engages on coordinating Ethiopian Broadcast Service Providers to support the all-inclusive growth and prosperity of the nation, through information,entertainment, and advancement of knowledge to achieve social growth
